If you have a late model GM truck (2001 and newer) with 8-lug wheels, you're probably familiar with the sloppy steering problem. If you haven't run into the problem yet, you will. The cause of the problem is that GM designed their steering system using tiny linkage components that are simply inappropriate for trucks built for heavy duty use. They wear out very quickly, resulting in sloppy steering. They're also weak. Some GM truck owners have reported that hitting the curb was enough to bend the steering components. This is not a good state of affairs for what is supposed to be a heavy duty truck.
You can replace the pitman and idler arms every 50,000km, but if you're looking for a long-term solution, you need the EXAXT Heavy Duty GMC Steering Upgrade kit.
Our kit is the only one on the market that addresses all the factory weaknesses. It is a true bolt-on solution that features severely over-engineered xxxx chromoly components that allow the use of much larger, off-the-shelf tie rod ends. All parts are street-legal and your turning radius will be unaffected. Installation is a breeze, involving no more time than it would typically require to replace the weak factory components.
The kit is available for all late-model (2001+) GM 8-Lug trucks including the Hummer H2, 1500HD, 2500, 2500HD, 3500, and 2500 Suburban/YukonXL/Avalanche.
This kit was featured exclusively in 4WD Magazine, read the article here.
The kit comes with complete installation guide (in PDF format). Click here to download the instructions.
